The typical form of a very useful garden species. All forms share the moniker "Hedge Bamboo," taking well to pruning and shaping. They tolerate colder temperatures than other Bambusas, being hardy to 13 degrees F. or more, and do well in most Northern California climate zones. Winter chill eliminates scale and mealy bugs, which commonly afflict them in warmer climates. Grows from 35' to 45' with 1 1/2" diameters in climate of origin and 15-20' in N. California.
