Description

Hard to find species! A unique and pretty, upright clumper from Yunnan Province, China. Has thorns on nodes, and blue-green canes that turn yellow-orange in the fall. Delicious edible shoots. Needs moist, well drained soil. Shoots in fall. Slower to start but thrives after well established (second year.)

Tight clumper.
Color: gray, blue-green in shade; only with sun – pumpkin orange, purple, red
Full sun all day in cooler, coastal climates.
