Description
Collected in the mountains of northern Sichuan, China, at an elevation of over 8500 ft., the species of this attractive plant has not yet been determined. Gunmetal blue to purplish culms to olive green as they age. Culm and branch sheaths sometimes take on a striking rusty-orange coloration, clinging for a time before dropping. The leaves are dark green. Like Fargesia robusta it is among the more upright and sun tolerant of the genus.
