Description
A recent import native to central and eastern China, this slender, long leaved, attractive bamboo has been used historically for making chopsticks, paintbrushes, and pens. It’s long, wide leaves are used to weave into mats, line hats, and for food wrappers. It is a best grown as a large, upright hedge or bush.
Leaves are 2″ wide by 1′ long with a somewhat stiff and spiky appearance. It grows 6′ tall, is hardy to 0 degrees, and prefers partial shade.
