Description
This is reputed to be the most cold hardy species of the genus, tolerating -20 degrees. It forms attractive groves up to 34′ tall with culms 1 ¾” in diameter. Culms and leaves are dark green and arching at the very top. P. nuda gets its name from its ability to become deciduous with extreme cold. Does not do well in southern states with very hot summers.
