Description
Very ornamental plant. Similarly to Bambusa ventricosa, culms sometimes develop characteristic internodal swelling when subject to high summer heat, but culm is yellow with multiple green stripes. In humid, warm climates it can grow 55′ tall and 2 ¼” in diameter. Will grow to 25′ in the Bay Area. Cold hardy to 18 degrees. An especially exciting subject for bonsai.
